Update: A huge Game restock is rumoured to happen next week. Read on for more details.
The PS5 console was released more than six months ago, but if you’re a gamer you’ll know how hard it has been to get your hands on the latest device.
Restock issues have been plaguing Sony since the reveal, and despite stores reopening in the UK as lockdown measures lift, the situation doesn’t seem to be getting much better.
It has become so difficult for people to get their hands on a PS5 that it’s spawned a whole Twitter community of stock trackers, as well as a 24,500-strong community of Redditors all trying to nab the console before it sells out again.
But, it’s not all bad news, last week Game had a huge restock, which lasted more than an hour. We also saw smaller drops at Amazon and AO. Sadly, we didn’t see any drops at Very – which was a retailer heavily rumoured to have a restock.
Owing to the high demand, we’re here to help you get your hands on the coveted Playstation by keeping an eye on all major retailers, as well as offering the latest details on any rumoured releases. Follow live so you don’t miss out.
You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections, which are formed from real-world testing and expert advice. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

Upcoming PS5 game releases
Whether you’ve managed to nab a PS5 or a looking to get prepared for the day in which you finally do, you may be interested to know about the upcoming PS5 games. Final Fantasy 7 Remake (£69.99, Amazon.co.uk) will be released on 10 June, while the eagerly anticipated Ratchet & Clank (£69.99, Amazon.co.uk) will be available the following day on 11 June.
But, if you can’t wait until then, we’ve written a review of the best PS5 games that are available now. And Astro’s Playroom (free, Store.playstation.com) topped the round-up with our writer noting that “this imaginative platformer is a nostalgia-drenched adventure through PlayStation history, from the demo CD bundled with the original PS1 to modern classics of the PS4 era.”

For those of you who have registered your interest on the SimplyGames website for a PS5, we’d recommend checking your inboxes now for a link that will take you to a page where you can buy a PS5 bundle. They aren’t cheap, however, with some shoppers taking to Twitter to gawp at the extortionate price.

A massive Game PS5 restock is rumoured to happen next week
We may have just received word on when exactly Game could have a new PS5 drop. According to the @PS5StockAlertUK Twitter account, Game expects 15,000 consoles to become available for pre-order between 1 June and 3 June next week.
If true, it would make it the largest stock drop Game has ever had, making it three retailers rumoured to have a PS5 drop next week, including Smyhs Toys and BT. In the meantime, we’ll continue to keep you updated of all the news and rumours of future stock drops on here and via our PS5 stock tracking page.

Best PS5 accessories
If you’re hoping to get ahead of a potential PS5 restock, you’ll want to know what the best accessories are. Luckily, we’ve found them:
The Sony PlayStation 5 dualsense controller took the top spot in the review, with our writer noting that “besides looking and feeling good, it also has some useful features such as haptic feedback, which is a form of far superior vibration, and a set of trigger buttons that are much more responsive and tactile than previous PlayStation controllers.”
“It’s the natural next step for a PlayStation controller and it’s arguably the best thing about the console. A second one is an essential addition for everyone but the most antisocial player,” he added.
A worthy purchase to make ahead of the next PS5 restock!

BT PS5 restock
We could be about to see a PS5 restock at the BT shop and BT-owned EE in the next few weeks, according to a Twitter PS5 stock tracking page. The page, which has been accurate on a number of PS5 drops, claims that the retailer’s internal systems show a restock date of the first week of June. You’re recommended to sign up for alerts on BT’s website.
EE works a bit differently in that only EE customers on the EE network will be able to buy a PS5 console from the network provider’s website.

Currys PS5 restock
For those signed up to the Currys VIP pass draw, the retailer sent out VIP codes on Saturday and you have until today to redeem your code, so check both your inbox and spam folders to see if you were lucky enough to receive one.
For those uninitiated, Currys switched over to a new system for allocating PS5 consoles a few months ago. Instead of waiting for a drop, you sign up toCurrys PS5 VIP drawand wait for the retailer to send you a code. You have 72 hours to redeem this code, which gives you priority access to buy a PS5 at your local store. It seems like the fairest way to land a PS5 console.

Will there be a PS5 restock on Amazon Prime Day?
We don’t know when exactly Amazon Prime Day is happening this year, only that it’s occurring in June. Another thing we don’t know is whether Amazon will have a PS5 drop to celebrate its annual sales event.
We think it’s unlikely that Amazon will have a PS5 drop on the day itself, seeing as the servers already struggled to cope with the PS5 launch. Bringing the two together is a recipe for disaster. What’s more likely is that Amazon saves a PS5 restock for the lead-up to Prime Day or even after it. Either way, we’ll let you know.

PlayStation Days of Play sale
While we wait for a PS5 drop, the annual PlayStation Days of Play sale is about to commence. Between 26 May and 9 June, a number of PS4 games and PS5 games will be heavily discounted on various retailers and the PlayStation store.
PS5 titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be on sale, with Sony knocking a few pounds off its £44.99 price tag (Currys.co.uk). And PS4 games like Death Stranding, which will be reduced from £59.99 to £16.99 (Amazon.co.uk), Ghost of Tsushima reduced to £30.99 (Amazon.co.uk) and The Last of Us Part 2reduced to £22.99 (Amazon.co.uk). We’ll have more details on the sale in a short while.
From the ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ to ‘The Last Of Us’, we’ve found the best PS4 games to play right now, available from Argos, Currys, Playstation Store and more

Where to buy the PS5 in the UK
Good morning! It’s another new week, but will it be another new week where you finally get your hands on a PS5 console? Well, it would be hard to top the massive PS5 drops from last week, which saw a big restock at Game, Amazon and AO, but we’re remaining hopeful that more PS5 consoles are coming.
Unfortunately, the rumour of a Very drop didn’t materialise, but will this week be the one? It’s looking doubtful. At the moment, there aren’t any upcoming rumoured drops scheduled for this week, with the next drops expected at Smyths Toys and the BT Shop in the first week of June.

A Very disappointing day for a Very PS5 drop
Well, it’s been a Very uneventful day for PS5 drops. We expected to see a good number of PS5 consoles land on the retailer’s website today, but sadly they haven’t materialised.
